Terms & Conditions: Win your Council Rates up to $5,000
1) The ‘Pay your Council Rates up to $5,000’ (Promotion) is being run by Leaders Hawke’s Bay Limited trading as Ray White Hawke’s Bay, NZBN 9429032059601 (the Promoter). The Promoter’s head offi ce address is 60 Prebensen Drive, Napier 4110.
2) The Promotion runs from 12:01 am on 15 June 2026 to 11:59 pm on 31 August 2026 (Promotional Period).
3) To qualify for entry, entrants must meet all of the following criteria:
a) An onsite property appraisal of the entrant’s property must be conducted by a Ray White Hawke’s Bay Salesperson during the Promotional Period. (The appraisal is free and carries no obligation to list or sell the property);
b) You must be the registered proprietor(s) of the property;
c) The property must be a residential or lifestyle property located within the Hawke’s Bay region, strictly excluding the Wairoa District;
d) The property must not be listed for sale with any other real estate company or privately at any time during the Promotional Period;
e) You are not an employee, contractor, licensee, salesperson of the Promoter, or an immediate family member of the aforementioned (immediate family means spouse, de facto partner, parent, sibling, or child); and
f) Renewal appraisals on active Ray White listings are ineligible.
4) Qualifying Entries: One entry is gained per property for each qualifying onsite appraisal during the Promotional Period.
5) The prize draw will be conducted at the Promoter’s Office at 60 Prebensen Drive, Napier. The winner will be drawn at random on 3 September 2026.
6) The Promoter retains sole discretion to declare an entry void and redraw the prize on the same terms as the original draw if:
a) The winner(s) do not respond to contact attempts within three (3) business days of the first contact attempt made by the Promoter; or
b) The registered proprietor(s) is found to be ineligible to enter the Promotion under these Terms and Conditions.
7) The Prize: There is one (1) prize. The prize will be awarded to the winner in the form of a direct payment made by the Promoter to the relevant local authority (Napier City Council, Hastings District Council, Central Hawke’s Bay District Council, or Hawke’s Bay Regional Council) to pay the winner’s property rates.
a) The maximum value of the prize is $5,000 NZD (inclusive of GST, if any).
b) If the winner’s total annual rates for the appraised property are less than $5,000, the remaining balance will be applied as an advance credit to the winner’s council rates account. Under no circumstances will any balance be paid out to the winner in cash.
8) Subject to any rights that cannot be excluded by law, the Promoter’s decisions regarding all aspects of the Promotion, including validity of entries, are final and no correspondence will be entered into. The Promoter will make all decisions reasonably and in good faith.
9) Privacy and Marketing: Every prize winner and entrant consents and agrees:
a) That any personal information provided for the purpose of this Promotion will be collected, stored, and used by the Promoter in accordance with the Privacy Act 2020;
b) To the Promoter using their personal information to send them marketing and promotional materials. Entrants may opt out of receiving such communications at any time in accordance with the Unsolicited Electronic Messages Act 2007;
c) That the winner consents to the Promoter using their name, region, photos, and videos for publicity and marketing purposes in any media. The Promoter will request consent prior to publication. The winner agrees to make themselves reasonably available for such purposes without compensation; and
d) That the Promoter may disclose personal information if required by law.
10) The Promoter reserves the right to extend, postpone, cancel the Promotion, or to amend these Terms and Conditions due to circumstances beyond the Promoter’s control.
11) The prize cannot be transferred, exchanged, or redeemed for cash. In the event the prize mechanism becomes unavailable for any reason, the Promoter reserves the right to substitute it for a different prize of equal or greater value.
12) To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Promoter, its associated companies, and agencies shall not be liable for any indirect, consequential, or economic loss, or for any personal injury, loss, or damage whatsoever sustained in connection with this Promotion or the prize, except for any liability that cannot be excluded by law (including under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986).
13) Social Media Release: This Promotion is in no way sponsored, endorsed, administered by, or associated with Meta (Facebook, Instagram) or any other social media platform.
14) These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of New Zealand.
