Our Response to COVID-19

At Ray White Hawkes Bay, the health and safety of our team members, clients and the community is our number one priority – never more so than right now given the escalating COVID-19 health crisis.

We value the trust you place in us, not only to provide fantastic client service whilst selling homes but also for prospective purchasers and tenants wishing to inspect properties currently for sale or rent. With that in mind and with continued vigilance from the public, the chance of widespread community outbreak is expected to remain low. We are conscious that Hawkes Bay has seen thousands of tourists over the last two weeks and we feel it sensible to take extra precautions during this time.

In light of this, we have implemented a number of additional, proactive health and safety measures to ensure we can continue to provide our entire internal and external network with the best, and safest experience possible.


In real estate, shaking hands is part of the job, however, moving forward we will be implementing a zero contact policy. Our entire team will be encouraged to have no direct contact with any clients or customers. Instead, upon professional advice – when greeting, thanking or congratulating anyone, we have recommended waving, a thumbs up, bowing or “jazz hands”.  We will also maintain a safe distance during all interactions.


Ray White Hawkes Bay is taking the advice of the Ministry of Health to ensure we are in the best position to minimise the spread of infection should a team member present with any symptoms or be diagnosed with COVID-19. This includes:

  1. Our clients will be asked to disclose if they have returned from overseas or if they have had contact with anyone who has in the last two weeks
  2. Children will be discouraged from property inspections
  3. Individual property viewings will be encouraged and open homes will be kept to a minimum or cancelled where possible, hand sanitiser will be enforced prior to entry (provided we can source it)
  4. Our property managers have temporarily postponed routine property inspections
  5. Our sales team will be asked to work from home where possible
  6. All of our staff will be required to self isolate immediately upon presentation on any symptoms
  7. All internal and external group meetings will be hosted via Zoom
  8. Team viewings of properties will be completed virtually
  9. The Ministry of Health Information sheets on COVID-19 will be displayed in the office, sent to the team digitally and can be found here for your information
  10. We will assess these measures as new information becomes available and keep you informed


We believe our clients, customers and staff deserve to feel as safe and comfortable as possible when dealing with us in these uncertain times. As more information comes to light, we will continue to refine our approach to COVID-19 and update you accordingly.
