By Ray White Hawke's Bay

For more than two decades, Elanor MacDonald has been a dedicated leader in New Zealand’s real estate industry, serving both as a business owner and as an advocate for the profession through the Real Estate Institute of New Zealand (REINZ).

Elanor joined REINZ in 1997 and quickly became an active contributor. From her early involvement on the District Committee to her appointment as REINZ Ambassador when the Real Estate Agents Authority came into force, she has represented her region with integrity and commitment. In this role, she has consistently championed collaboration, professionalism, and high standards of practice.

Her work as Ambassador has included organising annual functions and industry events that unite professionals across all brands. These gatherings have fostered knowledge sharing, celebrated achievement, and strengthened relationships within the sector, raising the bar for real estate practice regionally and beyond.

Alongside her service to the industry, Elanor has built a career marked by achievement and innovation. Beginning as the Number One salesperson in Lower Hutt, she later established her first business in Napier under an international franchise in 2005. Since then, she has successfully operated businesses under both independent and franchise models, giving her a unique perspective on the opportunities and challenges faced by real estate professionals. Today, she leads Ray White Hawke’s Bay, guiding a high-performing team dedicated to innovation, client care, and excellence.

Elanor’s leadership has been recognised with numerous prestigious awards, affirming her impact in marketing, growth, leadership, and customer satisfaction. Beyond results, her career reflects a deep belief that trust, adaptability, and professionalism form the foundation of long-term success.

Looking ahead, Elanor remains committed to ensuring that real estate continues to evolve in ways that strengthen client relationships, embrace innovation, and foster collaboration across the profession. For her, real estate is not simply about transactions, it is about trust, community, and shaping the future of the industry.
