COVID: Level 2, New Normal

We’re very grateful to be in level 2 here in Hawkes Bay. We’re almost back to “normal” in the real estate industry, however, it’s a new normal.

Property Viewings

  • Open homes and private viewings may take place, provided contact tracing systems are in place and viewing can occur safely, e.g. physical distancing of 2m can be maintained at all times, hygiene etiquette is adhered to, hands sanitised when entering and exiting the property, open home/private viewing is contactless with no touching surfaces and face coverings must be worn.
  • The number of people in the home at one time must be limited to ensure physical distancing of 2m can be maintained. 
  • No open homes or private viewings to be conducted at properties where a person living (client/occupant/tenant) have been, in the 14 days prior to the viewing, unwell with flu-like symptoms, are self-isolating or have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • No one is to attend an open home if they are unwell with flu-like symptoms,are self-isolating or have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19.
  • Potential buyers can travel to another region to attend a viewing at alert level 2, if the region they are travelling from is at alert level 1 or alert level 2.
  • Buyers who live in a region that is at alert level 3 or alert level 4 are not able to travel to attend a viewing in a region that is at a lower alert level. We are happy to arrange virtual viewings for these potential buyers instead.

Appraisals

  • Salespeople may visit properties to carry out appraisals and listings provided they can do so safely e.g. physical distancing (2metre minimum) can be maintained at all times, hygiene etiquette is adhered to, hands sanitised when entering and exiting the property, and the visit is contactless etc
  • All parties are required to wear face coverings and record the visit on the Covid Tracer app. 
  • Photography/videography and home staging may occur provided physical distancing (2metre minimum) is maintained at all times. 

Settlements and Moving

  • Settlements and moving house can occur between Alert levels 1, 2 and 3
  • Sanitised keys will be arranged and delivered contactless
